New Chinese perfume brands smell out success at home

SHANGHAI -- In a Chinese fragrance market dominated by European brands, locally perfumes are starting to attract customers, especially among young Chinese, who tend to prefer domestic products to imports.

To Summer, a brand that offers fragrances inspired by Asian culture, has opened showrooms in Shanghai and other large cities in China, while Documents, another brand, counts a venture capital fund affiliated with L'Oreal of France among its investors.
