TAIPEI -- Key MacBook and iPad makers have reported significant revenue declines in April as COVID-related lockdowns in China hit the world's most important electronics manufacturing hub.
Quanta Computer, the world's biggest notebook manufacturer, said its revenue fell nearly 40% in April from the previous month, before authorities introduced lockdown measures in Shanghai to contain a surge in COVID-19 cases. On the year, April revenue was down 21.3% at 66.72 billion New Taiwan dollars ($2.23 billion), the company's filing with the stock exchange on Monday showed. Quanta's Shanghai site is the most important production base in the world for MacBooks.
