Following pandemic boom, device makers brace for consumer belt-tightening

BERLIN -- IFA Berlin, Europe's biggest tech show, is back after a two-year COVID-induced hiatus, just as a boom in electronics demand looks set to wither amid inflation fears and surging energy prices.

The marked dampening of consumer sentiment lately has led some of Asia's biggest electronics and appliance makers to retool their sales pitches for the event, which runs through Tuesday.
