TOKYO -- East Asia and the Pacific will need another 168 years to close the region's gender gap, with a particularly long way to go toward achieving parity in politics, the World Economic Forum said in a new report.
The Geneva-based WEF's Global Gender Gap report tracks progress toward equality based on a range of factors, including economic and political participation, education and health. The 2022 edition, released on Wednesday, estimates that as a whole it will take the world another 132 years to level the playing field.
