TOKYO -- Philippine President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.'s five-day official visit to Tokyo yielded new defense and economic deals with Japan, including $13 billion "in contributions and pledges" and commitments from three unnamed entities to support his planned sovereign wealth fund.
Marcos and Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida also agreed to strengthen Manila and Tokyo's military ties amid rising tensions in the region.
