Rakuten will double e-commerce turnover by 2030: CEO Mikitani

TOKYO -- Japan's Rakuten Group aims to double its domestic e-commerce turnover to 10 trillion yen ($78.9 billion) as its money-losing wireless business grows into an earnings driver, Chairman and CEO Hiroshi Mikitani told Nikkei in an exclusive interview.

"The synergies between mobile and e-commerce are greater than anticipated, and gross merchandise sales will grow at an accelerated pace," said Mikitani.
