HONG KONG -- Legions of young Chinese gamers had their dreams of a video game filled summer crushed this week, as industry leader Tencent Holdings quashed rumors that strict limits on playing time would be relaxed.
The country's biggest gaming group cited a "misunderstanding" as it took to social media to tell teen gamers that it would still enforce a government cap on screen time of three hours a week, even during the two-month summer holiday.
